About Us

PPS was originally founded by a member of the Kirby family, a retired postmaster, to hand-sort mail for the Post Office located on 8th Street in Amarillo. In 1996, the Kirbys acquired one of the first mechanical readers/sorters in the Texas Panhandle, which allowed for mechanical sorting of mail. In 2000, the Austin family purchased PPS and moved the business to its current location on 9th Street. Since then, we have added a second PPS location in Lubbock and a sister company, Variverge, with locations in Dallas and Amarillo. With the introduction of more modern mailing equipment, we have also expanded our team to include in-house graphic designers and a print room, transforming us into a full-service direct mail company.

In January 2021, PPS acquired Zip Print, a long-standing full-service commercial printing company, which further enhanced our printing capabilities. Currently, we are operating at 920 SW 9th Avenue, Amarillo.

By providing excellent customer service and fast turnaround times, we have become a trusted business partner for hundreds of companies across the Texas Panhandle and the Texas Plains.     Luke received his BBA in Finance from Baylor University and his Masters in Accounting from the University of Virginia. Luke is married to his wife Meredith and has four children, Faith, Adelynn, Katherine, and Blake. Luke enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, dirt bike trail riding, snow skiing and backpacking.

  • James Austin

    Vice President/General Counsel - PPS & Variverge

    James received his BBA in Finance and Masters in Business Administration from Baylor University as well as his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University. Prior to joining PPS, James was a partner at Sprouse Shrader Smith, PLLC, where he focused on oil and gas law, commercial real estate, probate and other general business transactional work. James is married to his wife Lauren and together they have two children, Parker and Sydney. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, working outside, traveling and spending time with his family.

    Controller/HR Manager -PPS, Variverge & Zip Print

    Melody has been a member of the PPS team since 2003. She received her BBA in Accounting from Baylor University and is a licensed CPA. She is married to her husband, Ted, and they have two grown sons. In her free time, Melody enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

    Chris has over 36 years printing experience. He has six children, Steve, Brittany, Ciara, Christopher, Madison and Maci and five beautiful grandchildren that are the joys of his life. He enjoys grilling, riding his Harley, and spending time with friends and family.

  • Duane Williams

    General Manager - PPS Lubbock

    Duane has been a valuable part of the PPS team since 2005. Duane is married to his wife Wendy and has three daughters, Lindsey, Anna and Elizabeth. Duane has a BBA in Management from West Texas A&M University. In his free time, Duane enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and working on his family ranch.

    Candace has a BS in Mathematics from West Texas A&M University. She enjoys reading, hiking, camping, gardening, and going to the beach.

  • Norma Gutierrez

    Sales Service Representative - PPS Amarillo

    Norma is the Print/Mail Project Coordinator at PPS in Amarillo. She has 30 years Customer Service and Sales in the printing industry and has brought a wealth of print experience to PPS. While visiting relatives in Amarillo 11 years ago, Norma fell in love with the blue sky and the friendliness of the people here and moved here that next month. She enjoys hanging out with Alaina, her granddaughter who she teaches her cooking and gardening and her favorite hobbies.

    Prepress Manager/Designer

    Tricia has been a member of the Zip Print team since 2004 and has 27 years experience in the printing industry. She received her BA in English from Texas Tech University. Go Red Raiders! She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and listening to audiobooks.

  • Cathleen Tyson-Day

    Design Team Manager/Graphic Designer/Consultant

    Cathleen "Cat" has worked at APLX Advertising, KAMR-TV and several print shops in Amarillo and Phoenix. Cathleen specializes in design concepts, branding, event promotions, fundraising coordination, web development, social media marketing, and photography. Cathleen was awarded Outstanding Member by the Amarillo Advertising Federation 2015-16, and AAF Tenth District Outstanding Member of the Year 2017. She was the Chair for the AAF Central Region Conference September 2017 hosted in Amarillo. The Downtown Women’s Center awarded her the National Philanthropy Day Heart of Philanthropy in February 2021 and Stephanie Goins awarded her the honor in November 2023. Cathleen sings professionally in Amarillo. She is married to Billy Day.

    Arlene graduated from Lubbock Christian University with her BA in Digital Media Arts. Arlene has worked at Design Warehouse, SMR Entertainment and

    Midtown Printing as a graphic designer. She likes to design content and banners for close family businesses. On her free time Arlene enjoys painting, gardening, listening to music and staying active outdoors. She also admires spending time with friends, family and her furry pet Riley.

    Cesar has a BA in Graphic Design from West Texas A&M University. He joined PPS after designing for the university and Retrieve Technologies. In his free time, he enjoys painting, listening to music, and going to the gym.

Outside of work, Holli enjoys spending time with her husband Ian and their spastic cat. She loves to unwind by binge-watching TV, playing video games, and spending time with her family.

    Mandy Cook is new to the PPS Team, but not new to building long term business relationships in the Texas Panhandle.

    She started her career in Real Estate in 2000, learning the value of customer service and honoring her word. Through her years of serving her community, she has developed long lasting relationships in a vast network of business partners.

    Mandy is a mother of four children, Echo, Chase, Vandy and Gianna. They range in age between 29 and 8 years old. Chase and his beautiful wife, Sierra, just gave Mandy her first grandson, Beau.

    Her favorite hobbies are antiquing, repurposing furniture, gardening, and being at the lake.

    Volunteering is very important as Mandy. She has served on many boards and charities. Her current active groups are Amarillo Business Woman, West Texas Professionals, Agents Act, Agents against Child Trafficking, and Amarillo Symphony Guild, Co-chair.
